Information for patients

Do you have swelling or pain in one leg or both? Are you or your provider concerned about a blood clot?

The medical term for a blood clot in the legs is a deep vein thrombosis, or DVT. DVTs occur for a number of different reasons, including slow or impaired blood flow caused by injury or immobility. DVTs are relatively quick and easy to diagnose and treat, but unfortunately many patients go to an ER when they are concerned about a blood clot, which can result in long wait times, and high cost of care.

We offer a better solution: a dedicated clinic for DVT and circulatory disorder screening. We offer same-day quick appointments. Our experienced providers will examine you, perform a thorough ultrasound, and give you your results the same day.

Information for providers

Sending a patient to an urgent care or an ER for unilateral swelling is frustrating. But many providers are understandably reluctant to risk sending a patient home, especially if risk factors are present.

Our clinic is open 9am-7pm, M-F. We accept most insurance, and in the event your patient is not covered we offer a reasonable cash price for a scan, typically far lower than the cost sharing associated with an ER visit. Wait times are minimal, one hour at the most. If you reach out, or send the patient with instructions on how to contact you, we will reliably email, fax, or call to get you the patient’s results same-day.

Our process is simple, we examine your patients and take a thorough history to understand risk factors. We double-check vital signs and our certified vascular technicians perform a thorough ultrasound, including minor calf veins. If we diagnose a DVT, we triage it appropriately and if treatment is required we will give the first dose of medication the same day to ensure the best outcome possible. We will also provide appropriate measures to prevent post thrombotic syndrome, including providing medical grade compression stockings at the time of the appointment.

Changed my life

The staff was very professional, and did an excellent job 100%, it’s like I have a brand new pair of legs. I will be telling my friends, family, and coworkers. I can wear a pair of shorts today.

Thank you, Dr. Hanna

To me, he genuinely cares for his patients and I will definitely keep him as my doctor for the future. I owe him for getting me up and walking again.

The doctor was so kind and very knowledgeable

All of the staff members made me feel so comfortable. The office was very clean, convenient, and easy to get to. I would recommend it to anyone looking to treat their veins. My legs feel great.

My mom is so happy! Next week I'll bring my aunties

I hope we could’ve found them such a long time ago. AMAZING does not describe the results. So far, my mom has done 6 sessions (both legs) and they are 90% gone. This clinic is THE BEST!!!

I highly recommend Dr. Volney

He was the first doctor to successfully provide significant relief for my pain for which I am very grateful. He presents options in a clear way and is very easy to talk with. He also has real concern for his patients.

Dr. Lombardi is the best

If you have any pain anywhere this is the place to go. She will help you relieve your pain and care for you with all her heart. Best and greatest staff! They will greet you with a smile and the best care!

I had the BEST experience I could ever imagine

The staff was AMAZING! Very friendly and very detailed in their communication, I would one million percent recommend that you come here if you are having any vein issues. Everyone here is amazing.

I left the office pain free

I think I’ve already posted here, but just in case it’s a different site, I LOVE Dr. Patel! She has a very charming manner and I left the office pain free! Don’t hesitate to see her if you are in pain!

High quality care and excellent results

We’ve been referring our patients here for the past months and have received the BEST feedback. High quality care and excellent results from what they are telling us. I will absolutely continue to send patients.

Dr. Deygoo is one of the best doctors you can find

His bedside manner is impeccable and he truly has the best interest of his patients at heart. He also takes time to listen to you and finds options that work for you. I cannot recommend him enough!!

For anyone contemplating coming in, I say do it

First, I have to start off with wow this is a great doctors office! Such a clean and relaxing atmosphere that really puts you at ease as soon as you walk in. The medical staff is so kind and welcoming.

This treatment center is heaven sent

I had searched for months and was literally going to give up until I came across their ad. The office is clean, and it is conveniently located. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. This place is awesome!

I feel extremely taken care of when I visit

The staff at the clinic is also top notch. Always so friendly and helpful. The clinic itself is very clean and pleasant, and I hardly ever have to wait. The treatment I received was successful and has made a positive impact for me.

Could not recommend more!

The office is clean, pretty, and out of the 12 visits I have had there, I have never seen more than two other patients, usually no other patients, and I have never waited more than 10 minutes to be seen.

I can simply say, thank you

The staff and receptionist are extremely kind and professional! And above all, their office is clean, new, and modern. I highly recommend it.

My experience was outstanding

It was very easy to schedule an appointment. The office staff was very welcoming and friendly. The wait in the waiting room was less than 5 minutes.

Every step was explained thoroughly

The clinic was very pleasant, when making appointments, calling to confirm my appointments, and dealing with my insurance. I have no more pain in my legs, and they look amazing too.

The process has been so smooth

Their insurance team is great, well informed. They delivered on what they said, the staff has been really nice. Every time I go, the appointment is on time; they don’t overbook, which is great. So I go in and out on time.

A positive experience with results that seem to get better everyday

Office staff is impressive; I’ve never had to sit in the waiting area for even a minute for my appointments, I am faithfully reminded prior to each appointment, and they make scheduling extremely easy.

What is a DVT and how do I know if I have one?

A DVT, or deep venous thrombosis, is the medical term for a blood clot in the leg.

DVTs can be minimally symptomatic with slight swelling or leg fatigue, or they can cause the entire leg to be extremely swollen and red. If left untreated, DVTs can lead to pulmonary embolism, or blood clots in the lungs, which can be extremely dangerous.

If you have leg swelling, particularly if it is associated with cough, shortness of breath or chest discomfort, seek care immediately.

Risk factors for DVT include:

But patients can develop DVT without any risk factors whatsoever
Does-Insurance-Cover-the-scan

Does insurance cover the scan?

Our clinic works with most insurance providers

In the event that your insurance does not cover our clinic, we offer DVT screening for a reasonable price, and we take credit card and care credit. The majority of the time, our pricing is less than the amount you would pay in co-pays and coinsurance if you sought care in an urgent care or an emergency room. We can verify your insurance coverage (check to see if you are covered) in under an hour in advance of your visit.

How does DVT testing work step by step?

We complete a thorough intake. We review health history, medications, and risk factors.
We check vital signs including heart rate, oxygen levels and breathing rate, to make sure there are no signs of a serious problem.
We perform a careful ultrasound to visualize blood flow in the legs. If blood flow is impaired or we visualize a blockage, we will quickly assess the size and severity of the clot and proceed appropriately.

How is DVT treated?

The treatment of DVT depends on the severity

If the clot is extremely small and in the lower part of the leg, it’s almost always safe to treat it with conservative measures – close follow up, aspirin, and walking frequently.
If it’s in the higher part of the leg, it’s generally advisable to start a blood thinning medication.
If the clot appears to be very large and potentially dangerous, it may be prudent to check for a blood clot in the lungs and other complications.
But the majority of DVTs are small and inconvenient as opposed to large and dangerous.
